In late September, Red Lake Rosie's Rescue received an early morning call from a concerned resident about a dog that had given birth that morning to a litter of pups. The people did not want the mother or the pups.
We found Tasha and her babies out in the woods with no bedding, no food, and no water. The very next day, there was a cold rain and it is doubtful any of the babies would have survived.
Despite being wounded on her back and very thin, Tasha was doing her best to care for her pups. Now she had a warm safe kennel with thick straw and layers of fleece blankets for a bed. With plenty of good food, she raised her pups and when they were weaned, every pup and Tasha found a new home.
